Understanding Risks, Treatment Plans & Your Safety at Angel Aesthetics
At Angel Aesthetics, your safety, and satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do. Before any cosmetic injectable treatment, it’s important that you understand the possible side effects, what’s involved in your personalised treatment plan, and how we ensure every procedure follows strict medical and legal guidelines.
You may experience some of the following reactions after treatment:
- Redness or swelling at the injection site
- Bruising or tenderness
- Mild pain or discomfort
- Headaches or nausea
- Temporary numbness or tingling
These typically resolve within a few days and are part of the normal healing process.
- Infection or abscess formation
- Lumps, nodules or uneven results
- Vascular occlusion (blockage of a blood vessel)
- Tissue necrosis (skin death)
- Allergic reactions
- Visual disturbances or blindness (very rare)
- Psychological effects such as anxiety or depression
- Swelling, redness, tenderness: 2–5 days
- Bruising (especially lips/under eyes): up to 10 days
- Final results: 2–4 weeks
- Lumps, migration or nodules: 2–6 weeks, may need massage/dissolving/
antibiotics/steroids - Vascular occlusion: Emergency dissolving; recovery may take weeks to months. Blindness can be irreversible.
- Skin staining: May last weeks to months, sometimes permanent
- Infection/abscess: 1–3 weeks with antibiotics
- Tissue necrosis/scarring: May take months, require specialist care
- Emotional distress: Support or referral may be required
- Mild swelling/redness: few hours to 2 days
- Bruising: up to 7 days
- Onset: 2–7 days, peak at 2 weeks
- Drooping eyelid/brow: 2–8 weeks
- Headaches/flu-like symptoms: usually resolve in a week
- Muscle atrophy/discomfort: Rare, can last weeks–months

- Allergic/systemic reactions (rare): Seek immediate care such as adrenaline or steroids
- Swelling, bruising, tenderness: 2–5 days
- Temporary nodules may form and resolve with massage
- Gradual collagen results: 6–12 weeks, improving for up to 6 months
- Persistent nodules/granulomas: May need steroid treatment or excision
- Asymmetry/uneven volume: May require further correction
- Rare inflammatory responses: Treated with anti-inflammatories
Informed Consent & Treatment Plans
Before every injectable treatment, your treating nurse and/or doctor will explain:
- The specific medication/product being used
- Treatment areas, dosages, and whether the treatment is experimental or off-label
- All risks, benefits, pricing and potential complications
- What to expect during and after your procedure
You’ll also receive a 12-month treatment plan tailored to your goals. If you change the product, dosage, or area being treated, a new prescription will be required.
