Frequently Asked Questions

Before booking a volume loss treatment, please ensure:

  • You have not received or are planning to receive vaccinations within two weeks before or after your appointment.
  • You have not had or are planning to have dental treatments (including extractions or major dental work) within four weeks before or after your appointment.
  • There are no active acne lesions, wounds, broken skin, or cold sores in the treatment area at the time of your appointment.
  • You have not taken antibiotics or fish oil within the last two weeks.
  • You have not consumed alcohol, aspirin, or blood-thinning medication within 48 hours before or after treatment.
  • You are not travelling interstate within 72 hours, or overseas within two weeks, of your appointment.

Please note: three-month follow-ups are only applicable for treatments involving the nose.

Volume loss treatments may be used to support facial balance and hydration by promoting collagen formation in targeted areas. These treatments may help restore firmness and improve the appearance of facial contours over time.

Your treatment plan will be tailored during a medical consultation by our registered nurses and prescribing doctors.

Treatment suitability, results, and pricing depend on individual assessment. These treatments involve prescription-only medicines.

A consultation will determine if this treatment is suitable for you. Please note the following general considerations:

  • Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid treatment if you have recent dental work, vaccinations, illness, or antibiotics within the last two weeks.
  • Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, and anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications for 48 hours before and after treatment.
  • Ensure skin in the treatment area is intact and free from infection.
  • Patients with autoimmune or neuromuscular disorders should obtain clearance from their GP or specialist before booking.

Treatment eligibility and suitability will be confirmed during consultation.

The effects of volume loss treatments vary based on the treatment area, metabolism, and lifestyle factors. Some individuals may notice improvement within several weeks, with effects gradually developing over time.

Results are temporary, as the body naturally metabolises the product. Your nurse will discuss maintenance options and realistic expectations during your consultation.

Individual results vary. Treatment suitability, results, and pricing depend on individual assessment.

  • The type of productfused: Different types of products have different molecular structures and will be metabolized by the body at different rates.
  • The area treated: Areas of the face or body that experience more movement or muscle activity, such as around the mouth or eyes, may break down the product material more quickly.
  • Metabolism: Individuals with faster metabolisms are likely to break down the product material more quickly than those with slower metabolisms.
  • Lifestyle habits: Certain lifestyle habits, such as smoking or excessive sun exposure, may contribute to the breakdown of product material and reduce the longevity of the treatment.
  • First time: whilst made up of a naturally occurring sugar molecule in our body, filler is viewed by our immune system as a foreign body. With subsequent treatments you’ll find your results last longer as your body will learn to ‘recognise’ it, and not send as many healing antibodies to break down your filler.
  • Facial Expressions: You may see a quicker decrease in effects near ‘high use’ areas like the mouth and surrounding areas, as excess movement breaks down product quicker.

After treatment, mild redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur in the treated area. These effects are typically temporary.
To support recovery:

  • Avoid touching the treated area for 12 hours.
  • Avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, and heat exposure (e.g., saunas) for 48 hours.
  • Resume your usual skincare routine after 24 hours, avoiding active ingredients such as retinol or AHAs for two days.

Your clinician will provide detailed aftercare instructions and advise if any additional steps are required.

All medical procedures carry risks. Common temporary effects include:

  • Mild redness, tenderness, swelling, or bruising.
    Less common effects may include:

  • Headache, temporary numbness, or mild discomfort.

Serious complications are rare but can occur. Your clinician will discuss all potential risks, including vascular occlusion, infection, or allergic reaction, during consultation.
Angel Aesthetics uses medical imaging technology where appropriate to help improve safety during procedures.

If you experience unusual symptoms such as severe pain, pale or mottled skin, or persistent swelling, contact the clinic immediately. If urgent, call 000.

At your appointment, your nurse will review your medical history and discuss your goals. A telehealth consultation with a prescribing doctor may be required before treatment to issue a prescription if appropriate.

Following assessment, your nurse will prepare the treatment area and carry out the procedure in line with your agreed plan. You will also receive aftercare information before leaving the clinic.

If you are planning treatment before an event, we recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks prior to allow time for the product to settle and for any swelling to resolve.
Your clinician will discuss realistic timeframes for achieving your desired results during consultation.

A topical anaesthetic may be applied before treatment to improve comfort. Certain products also contain a local anaesthetic to further minimise discomfort during treatment.
Your nurse will advise on the most appropriate numbing option for you during your consultation.

In some cases, previously administered products may be safely dissolved using an enzyme solution. This may be recommended if you wish to adjust previous treatments or address aesthetic concerns.

Your nurse will discuss suitability, risks, and aftercare during consultation. Not all types of products can be dissolved, and individual suitability will be assessed before proceeding.

Please note when booking a Rejuran appointment:

  • You have not had or planning to have any vaccinations within two weeks before or
    after your appointment.
  • You have not had or planning to have dental treatments (extractions, fillings or
major dental work) within four weeks before or after your appointment.
  • No active acne, wounds/broken skin or cold sores in the treatment area/s at time of

of your appointment, or within two weeks if travelling overseas.

Rejuran is a popular skin rejuvenation treatment known for its regenerative and anti-aging effects. Originating from South Korea, Rejuran is a potent injectable polynucleotide derived from salmon DNA which improves skin tightness, thickness, and addresses concerns such as acne, pigmentation, redness, rosacea, inflammation and improves darkness under the eyes.

Please ensure you:

  • Are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Are not planning to fly interstate within 72 hours, or fly Internationally within two weeks post treatment.
  • Do not consume alcohol or perform strenuous exercise in the 24-48 hours prior and post treatment
  • Have no excessive acne, sunburn, broken skin, wounds or coldsores in the desired treatment area.
  • If you are prone to coldsores, visit your local chemist for preventative medication. Not taking this medication can cause an outbreak, so take the night/morning prior to your appointment, as directed by your pharmacist.
  • Have not had any vaccinations, major dental work, or any aesthetic treatment planned to the same area for a MINIMUM of TWO WEEKS prior and post appointment.
  • Have not come down with an illness (Influenza, Bronchitis, Covid-19 etc) within the last two weeks as your body’s immune response is heightened.
  • Are not taking any antibiotic or steroidal medications (penicillin, amoxicillin, prednisone etc) for the two weeks leading up to your treatment.
  • Stop the use of anti-inflammatory medications a minimum of one week before your appointment. e.g. Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Naproxen/Naprogesic, Fish oils, St John’s Wort, Ginko, Ginseng, Vitamin E, or any blood thinning medications. You may take regular Panadol but advise your nurse if it was within the last 24 hours prior to treatment.
  • Ensure you are well hydrated by increasing your water intake, and have eaten a balanced meal in the last 4 hours prior to treatment.
  • If you suffer from an autoimmune or neuromuscular disorder (Eaton Lambert Syndrome, Myasthena Gravis etc) it is very unlikely you will be able to receive treatment. Please discuss and gain consent from your regular GP or specialist before booking in.

Available at Angel Aesthetics Clinic in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth.

  • Initial Results: Typically, noticeable improvements in skin texture and hydration can
be observed within 2 to 4 weeks after the first treatment session.
  • Optimal Results: For best results, a series of 3 to 4 sessions is usually recommended,
spaced 4 weeks apart. Optimal improvements are generally seen after completing
    this initial series.
  • Maintenance: The results of Rejuran treatments can last up to 6 to 12 months,
depending on individual factors such as age, skin condition, lifestyle, and skincare
routine. Maintenance sessions are often recommended every 6 to 12 months to
    sustain the results.
  • Immediately post treatment there may be small bumps or "papules" at the injection
sites. These bumps are normal and typically subside within a few hours and up to 48
    hours.
  • Rejuran treatments generally have minimal downtime. Most people can return to
their daily activities immediately after the procedure however, slight redness,
swelling, pinpoint marks and bumps from the injections may be visible.
  • Bruising and swelling can occur. These symptoms are usually mild and resolve within
48 hours but can last up to 2 weeks.
  • Light makeup can be applied 12 hours post treatment to cover any redness or
bruising, but it is important to use clean tools and products to avoid the risk of
    infection.

As with all treatments administered via injection, a mild pressure sensation in the injection
sites can be felt, and tenderness, inflammation, redness, itching, swelling and/or bruising
are all very normal and not cause for concern.
Less common mild side effects such as headaches, cold & flu like symptoms, pins and
needles, numbness or nerve pain in or near the treated area can occur. During the 4 weeks
it takes to integrate and settle into the tissue, you may experience all, some, or none of the

above symptoms. We know any side effect can feel worrying, but remember any of the
above are only a cause for concern if they do not resolve.
A rare but serious complication known as a Vascular Occlusion (filler enters an artery or
vein, partially or completely blocking the blood flow) is something your nurse will discuss
with you and what to look out for. Symptoms usually present immediately, but can occur
within 72 hours as dark, mottled bruising and white patches or pale/blanched skin on or
near the bruising. Heat and/or pain in the area can usually be felt, too. Tissue death can
reportedly occur by an unresolved VO from the 48-72 hour mark, so please contact us
immediately with photos and videos showing any bruise concerns.
A heightened immune response in patients can also cause adverse events such as a
delayed/quick onset hypersensitivity (similar to an allergic reaction) and nodules (hard
lumps that form), which is why we ask any patients who have been ill, taken
antibiotics/steroids, received a vaccination or have active coldsores or broken skin in the
two weeks before their appointment to advise their nurse.
An allergic reaction, whilst extremely rare, is still a possibility from all prescription
medication so keep an eye out for itchy hives and/or swelling around the eyes, mouth and
throat. Contact us immediately if you have any concerns, or call triple 000 if an
emergency/outside of business hours.
The most rare and serious complication that can occur is blindness from an occlusion
travelling to, and then blocking the opthalmic artery. In Australia, only two reported cases
have occurred, but it’s important to be aware the risk exists.
Potential aesthetic side effects like Fordyce Spots can occur, which are tiny white dots on
the lips that become more visible after lip filler treatment, this will resolve as the filler
dissolves. Another potential is called the Tyndall Effect, which is a blue/grey discolouration
and heightened risk in patients with thin tissue or highly depleted fat pads.
Booking your follow up between 4-6 weeks is essential for us to be able to complimentary
treat a complication, concern or asymmetry that occurs within our control. This timeframe is
specific for Rejuran follow ups, so if you aren’t able to find an appointment with your nurse
within this period, please contact us as soon as possible.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our
booking system. If you have any patient forms left to complete (these are sent as part of
your reminder message), please arrive at least 5 minutes early. If you are booked in for
Rejuran, you can be numbed early by request.
At your appointment time, your nurse will take you through and begin your consultation,
which is provided as part of all treatments booked – we’ll never inject without knowing your
goals. During this consultation, you will be numbed for Rejuran if you haven’t requested
early numbing, then you and your nurse will decide on the best treatment option/s for you,

depending on your candidacy, goals and budget. Your nurse will advise you of your expected
results, discuss with you product options (such as thick or regular filler) and volumes, and go
through your aftercare instructions & any potential side effects to look out for, specific to
your Rejuran treatment.
A prescription for your chosen treatment will be obtained via telehealth consultation if you
are a new patient to us, or if it’s been more than 12 months since your last appointment
with us. The doctor will also go through the risks again and obtain your consent to a
prescription and subsequent administration.
Any makeup will be removed, and the treatment area disinfected in preparation for
treatment, sometimes patients are ‘marked up’ with a cosmetic pen (this is not always
needed, and not for all areas). Once treatment has started, it’s all very quick and simple
from there and in no time, treatment will be complete. After your treatment, your nurse will
take you through to reception to complete payment, and you’ll be offered to sit and relax
with a coffee, tea or sparkling water & some snacks to unwind and relax post treatment

The recommended timeframe to receive treatments before a special occasion or event
varies per service. For Rejuran we recommend receiving your treatment at minimum 4-6
weeks before your event, so your results have had time to fully settle.
Weddings: if you are a new patient to us, we ideally recommend coming in 6 months prior
for a consultation – this allows us to create the best treatment plan for you with your
treatment options and timeframes. This ensures you have your final results and avoid any
stress of potential adjustments or complications too close to your special day.

We use a high-grade numbing gel that works within 10-15 minutes, We recommend to
arrive early for longer numbing.
Industry research has found that the body’s natural threshold for anaesthetic for natural
redheads is higher, meaning you need a larger dose, or your TLA numbing needs to be on for
a minimum of 15 minutes

Made primarily from Hyaluronic acid, skinboosters replicate the sugar molecule that occurs naturally in our skin, and increases Collagen production to the treated area to restore firmness. Skinboosters are also hydrophobic, meaning they attract moisture to the filled areas, restoring firmness and hydrating the skin from within.

Our highly trained nurses are experts at using these soft injectable gels to instantly restore lost volume, create definition and contour to all areas of the face, fill smokers lines & deep set wrinkles, acne pitting/scarring and can even correct facial asymmetries.

Please refer to our treatment menu to view all pricing & treatments available at Angel Aesthetics.

Please note that due to Australian regulations surrounding S4 prescription goods & their use in cosmetic injectables, we aren’t able to advertise the brand names of our products, or even a specific price. However, if you contact us we are happy to share this information with you.

It’s important to remember that while Skinboosters are mainly used for aesthetic reasons, it is still a prescription medication that can only be administered by a registered medical professional. As such, there are some prerequisites to be aware of before your appointment.

Your final results should be visible by the 4-12 week mark (it takes 12 weeks minimum for all effects of the collagen rebuilding to be seen). Before this point, your skinboosters will still be settling and integrating into the tissue. You may notice swelling and asymmetry during this time frame, which is very normal and only a cause for concern if it doesn’t resolve within 4 weeks.

The duration of the effects of skinboosters can vary depending on several factors, including the type of product used, the area of the face or body that was treated, and the individual’s metabolism and lifestyle habits.

The effects of skinboosters are best seen with 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Final results can last anywhere from six months to 18 months. It is important to note that the effects of skinboosters are not permanent as the body will eventually absorb the material over time. To maintain the desired results or build up safely, a follow-up treatment may be necessary.

Factors that can affect the longevity of skinboosters include:

  • The type of skinbooster used: Different types of products have different molecular structures and will be metabolized by the body at different rates.
  • The area treated: Areas of the face or body that experience more movement or muscle activity, such as around the mouth or eyes, may break down the product more quickly.
  • Metabolism: Individuals with faster metabolisms are likely to break down the product more quickly than those with slower metabolisms.
  • Lifestyle habits: Certain lifestyle habits, such as smoking or excessive sun exposure, may contribute to the breakdown of product and reduce the longevity of the treatment.
  • First time: whilst made up of a naturally occurring sugar molecule in our body, the product is viewed by our immune system as a foreign body. With subsequent treatments you’ll find your results last longer as your body will learn to ‘recognise’ it, and not send as many healing antibodies to break down the product.
  • Facial Expressions: You may see a quicker decrease in effects near ‘high use’ areas like the mouth and surrounding areas, as excess movement breaks down the product quicker.

Most patients can expect to see pinpoint redness at the injection sites. Swelling is very likely, and usually the highest in the first 72 hours post your appointment. If this does occur you can take a non-drowsy antihistamine to help bring it down. The risk of bruising is minimal however this risk varies from patient to patient due to the placement of blood vessels under the skin. If you do bruise, the best way to heal is to up your water intake and get a minimum of 8 hours sleep per night. To boost your healing, LED Healite II treatments are our go to, or you can apply Arnica cream from 48 hours post treatment.

You can also take a non-drowsy antihistamine 30 minutes prior to your treatment, as this can minimise your body’s inflammatory response to treatment and minimise any potential swelling or bruising.

After your appointment:

  • To let the injections sites heal, please don’t touch the treatment area for a minimum of 12 hours.
  • You can resume your regular skin care routine from the next day but avoid heavy foundations or products for a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Do not drink alcohol, take any substances that increase the heart rate, or get a massage/sauna for a minimum of 48 hours post treatment.
  • Don’t apply any vitamin serums, AHA’s or retinol/retinoids to the area for a minimum of two days post treatment.
  • Most dermal filler treatments don’t require any massaging unless directed to by your nurse depending on placement and product choice

Lip Contour treatment does come with a higher risk of bruising & swelling due to the high amount of blood vessels located throughout the entirety of the lip.

Unless your nurse advises otherwise, massaging the lips is required once most of any swelling or bruising has subsided, and this should continue daily until the product has integrated. See a demonstration on how to massage your lips here: https://youtu.be/eDFyj_PMmMM

As with all treatments administered via injection, a mild pressure sensation in the injection sites can be felt, and tenderness, inflammation, redness, itching, swelling and/or bruising are all very normal and not cause for concern. Less common mild side effects such as headaches, cold & flu like symptoms, pins and needles, numbness or nerve pain in or near the treated area can occur. During the 4 weeks it takes to integrate and settle into the tissue, you may experience all, some, or none of the above symptoms. Angel Aesthetics has recently adopted the use of Ultrasound in high risk areas, the latest revolution in safe aesthetic practice as this allows us to more accurately pinpoint where your veins and arteries are located under the skin and actively aid the prevention of occlusions and blindness.

A heightened immune response in patients can also cause adverse events such as a delayed/quick onset hypersensitivity (similar to an allergic reaction) and nodules (hard lumps that form), which is why we ask any patients who have been ill, taken antibiotics/steroids, received a vaccination or have active coldsores or broken skin in the two weeks before their appointment to advise their nurse.

Another potential is called the Tyndall Effect, which is a blue/grey discolouration and heightened risk in patients with thin tissue or highly depleted fat pads. Asymmetry after injection usually results from uneven/major swelling during application, and this is easily corrected at your follow up appointment if the asymmetry was not present prior to treatment, and if it has not resolved within 4 weeks.

Booking your DF follow up between 4-6 weeks is essential for us to be able to complimentary treat a complication, concern or asymmetry that occurs within our control. This timeframe is specific for Volume contouring follow ups, so if you aren’t able to find an appointment with your nurse within this period please contact us as soon as possible.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our booking system. This ensures you have your final results and avoid any stress of potential adjustments or complications too close to your special day.

All of our skinboosters contain a numbing agent, which from the first injection begins working its magic to deliver a virtually pain free experience.

The only Volume Contouring treatment that truly benefits from the use of TLA (topical local anaesthetic) is the lips. This is due to the high concentration of nerve endings in our lips, making them very sensitive. We use a high grade numbing gel that works within 10-15 minutes, and you are always welcome to arrive early for longer numbing.

If you, like our gorgeous nurse Robyn are a natural redhead please note: industry research has found that the body’s natural threshold for anaesthetic is higher, meaning you need a larger dose, or your TLA numbing needs to be on for a minimum of 15 minutes to achieve the same level of pain reduction as a non-natural redhead.

DENTAL BLOCKS – Our nurses Courtney & Sylvia can provide a dental block for Lips (if you are a candidate) by calling us before you book so we can extend your appointment. Dental blocks are charged at $49. Please note: whilst able to provide a completely pain free lip experience, they can relax the shape of your natural lip.

Teeth Whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that aims to lighten the colour of the teeth by removing the appearance of stains and discolouration. Our teeth whitening method uses an in-clinic whitening treatment, using a 6% hydrogen peroxide solution that is applied and activated by a blue LED light to speed up the whitening process.

There are several ways to whiten teeth, but most methods work by using a hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide based gel bleaching agent to break down and remove stains on the surface of the tooth. The peroxide in the gel penetrates the enamel and reacts with the stains to break them down. This process is called oxidation, and it produces oxygen molecules that help to lighten the colour of the teeth.

Our teeth whitening gel is the strongest available for use in Australia outside of dental clinics, and it has shown us amazing results for our patients, on average 4-8 shades white for the double session, and 8-12 shades white for our triple teeth whitening treatment is seen.

Teeth whitening is generally a safe and effective for the vast majority of patients. There are some situations where teeth whitening may not be suitable and should be avoided or delayed:

  • If you are pregnant or nursing, it is not recommended to undergo teeth whitening because the safety of the procedure has not been established.
  • If you have dental restorations like fillings, crowns, or veneers, teeth whitening may not be effective, and it can cause uneven coloration. These restorations do not respond to whitening agents, and they will not change color with the rest of your teeth.

  • If you have tooth decay, gum disease, or other dental problems, teeth whitening should be postponed until these issues are treated. Whitening products can cause sensitivity or irritation in teeth that are already compromised.

  • If you have a history of allergies to peroxide or other whitening agents, you should not undergo teeth whitening.

  • If you are under 16 years old, teeth whitening is generally not recommended because the pulp of the teeth is still developing, and the whitening agents can cause sensitivity or damage.

  • If you have severely stained or discolored teeth that do not respond to conventional teeth whitening treatments, your dentist may recommend alternative treatments like veneers or crowns.

It’s important to consult with your dentist before undergoing any teeth whitening treatment to determine if you are a good candidate and to discuss any potential risks or side effects.

Your teeth can only whiten to their most natural shade of white (unless you visit the dentist). Our patients achieve an average of 4-8 shades whiter per double session, and 8-12 shades white for our triple teeth whitening treatment.

The longevity of your results depends largely on your lifestyle and the current condition of the tooth, like enamel density, calcium deposits & previous dental work. Things like smoking, red wine, coffee or any coloured foods and drink too early post treatment can impact your final results.

Generally, teeth whitening can last anywhere from six months to two years, depending on the above factors. Touch-up treatments can help prolong the results and keep your teeth looking their best. It’s important to follow your dentist’s instructions and maintain good oral hygiene habits to help maximise the duration of your teeth whitening results.

Teeth whitening is generally safe for everyone,

After a teeth whitening session, straws are the best tip for aftercare and you’ll need to maintain your results by following the below aftercare instructions post treatment;

  • Avoid staining substances for at least 48 hours after treatment, avoid consuming substances such as coffee, tea, red wine, or any food or drink that can stain teeth. If you must consume them, use a straw to minimise contact with the tooth surface.

  • Don’t smoke: Smoking can cause staining and discolouration of teeth, so it is best to avoid it altogether, especially after a teeth whitening treatment.

  • Use a sensitive toothpaste: If you experience sensitivity after the treatment, use a desensitizing toothpaste for a few days to alleviate discomfort.

  • Touch-up treatments: Depending on the type of whitening treatment, you may need touch-up treatments every 6-24 months to maintain ongoing results.

Considerations before Treatment;

  • Tooth sensitivity: Teeth whitening can cause temporary tooth sensitivity, particularly to hot and cold temperatures. In some cases, this sensitivity can last for several days or even weeks after treatment.
  • Gum irritation: The bleaching agents used in teeth whitening treatments can irritate the gums, causing them to become red, swollen, and tender.
  • Enamel damage: Overuse or misuse of whitening products can damage tooth enamel, leading to tooth sensitivity and other dental problems.
  • Uneven results: Teeth whitening may not produce uniform results, particularly if the teeth have different levels of staining or if the whitening treatment is not applied evenly.
  • Relapse: Without proper aftercare and maintenance, teeth can gradually become stained and discolored again, particularly if you consume foods and drinks that can stain teeth.

If you are considering teeth whitening, it’s important to discuss any concerns or questions with your dentist beforehand to help choose the best treatment for you and help minimise any potential risks or side effects.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our booking system. If you have any patient forms left to complete (these are sent as part of your reminder message), please arrive at least 5 minutes early.

At your appointment time, your therapist or nurse will take you through and begin your consultation, provided as part of all treatments booked – we’ll never treat you without knowing your goals.

During this consultation, your therapist will discuss the best treatment option for you, advising you of your expected results, what treatment is recommended to meet your goals, and go through your aftercare instructions & anything to look out for

Treatment should be completely pain free and finished in approximately 60 minutes, with a hydrogen peroxide applied to the teeth and left on 2-3 times for 20 minutes intervals. The gel is then rinsed off and the process repeated. After your treatment your therapist will take you through to reception to complete payment, where you’ll be offered to sit and relax with a sparkling or still water to unwind and relax post treatment.

Wrinkle reduction treatment aim to reduce fine lines, wrinkles & increased skin laxity (sagging & loss of tightness). Wrinkle reduction treatments can also lift the brows, reduce and prevent headaches, provide relief from excess sweating (hyperhidrosis), bruxism (jaw grinding), and can even target muscles to slim the face.

Please note that due to Australian regulations surrounding S4 prescription goods & their use in cosmetic injectables, we aren’t able to advertise the brand names of our products, or even a specific price. However, if you contact us we can gladly share this information with you.

Our highly trained nurses will only treat a patient if both their aesthetic results & medical best practice standards can be met. This means we aren’t able to treat if you are contraindicated, not a candidate or go against our policies. Whilst Wrinkle reduction treatments are mainly used for aesthetic reasons, it is still a prescription medication that can only be administered by a registered medical professional.

Available at Angel Aesthetics Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth.

Your final results should be visible by the two week mark. Before this point, your wrinkle reduction treatment may still need time to reach full effect as the purified protein activates. You may notice the relaxant process happening from just a few days in, or notice minimal changes at all until over a week past your appointment – variations like this are very normal, as we are all individuals and respond differently to treatment.

Wrinkle reduction treatments lasts up to 2-4 months on average for most patients, reaching its full effect at the two week mark. It’s important to remember AW treatment acts on a scale and is not permanent – you’ll see and feel the strongest effects between 2-8 weeks, with the strength of treatment gradually decreasing over time as our body creates new neurotransmitters to ‘unfreeze’ the muscles.

An exception to this general advice is when you have received a high dose to a targeted area, such as masseter or hyperhidrosis injections. In this case, results can take up to 4 weeks to see the final results, with the effects lasting up to 6-9 months on average.

Several factors that can affect the longevity of your Wrinkle reduction treatments are:

  • Metabolism – everyone’s natural chemistry is different, which is why the average longevity is 2-4 months.
  • Extent of lines & wrinkles – patients with only fine lines can find their longevity lasts up to 5 months, whereas patients with deeper lines and/or larger muscle tissue initially may require a larger dose or quicker treatment intervals to increase their longevity.
  • Facial Expression – if you naturally have more animated facial expressions, you may see a quicker decrease in effects as the muscles treated are continually being called to action and thus rebuild the nerve signals quicker.

Most patients can expect to see pinpoint redness at the injection sites completely fade within 10-60 minutes. The risk of swelling is minimal, however if this does occur you can take a non-drowsy antihistamine to help bring it down. The risk of bruising is also very minimal, however this risk varies from patient to patient due to the placement of blood vessels under the skin. If you do bruise, the best way to heal is to up your water intake and get a minimum of 8 hours sleep per night. To boost your healing, LED Healite II treatments are our go to, or you can apply Arnica cream from 48 hours post treatment.

You can also take a non-drowsy antihistamine 30 minutes prior to your treatment, as this can minimise your body’s inflammatory response to treatment and minimise any potential bruising or swelling.

After your appointment:

    • Do not touch, rub or apply pressure to the treatment area for a minimum of 12 hours. Keep any touch or pressure to the area very gentle for a minimum of 48 hours.
    • You can resume your regular skin care routine from the next day, (applying very gently) but avoid heavy foundations or products for a minimum of 24 hours.
    • You will not be able to lie down (at all) for a minimum of 4 hours. This is to prevent the anti-wrinkle spreading to unwanted muscles and causing unwanted effects.
    • Do not drink alcohol, take any substances that increase the heart rate, or get a massage/sauna for a minimum of 48 hours post treatment.
    • Don’t apply any vitamin serums, AHA’s or retinol/retinoids to the area for a minimum of two days post treatment.

All invasive medical procedures carry an element of risk. Thankfully, the most common side effects or complications that can occur with cosmetic injectables are very minimal and easily resolved.

As with all treatments administered via injection, a mild pain or a ‘sting’ sensation at the injection site, redness, swelling and/or bruising are all normal and not cause for concern. During the two weeks it takes to fully activate, you may experience less common side effects such as headaches, general discomfort, cold & flu like symptoms, temporary double vision, pins and needles or numbness to the treated area. These side effects may feel worrying, but are only a cause for concern if they do not resolve.

An allergic reaction, whilst extremely rare, is still a possibility from all prescription medication so keep an eye out for itchy hives and/or swelling around the eyes, mouth and throat. Contact us immediately if you have any concerns, or call triple 000 if an emergency/outside of business hours.

Patient safety and comfort is our biggest priority, so we ask that you contact us if you have any concerns or doubts about any of the above. Sending a photo/video that shows your concern is always appreciated as we can help straight away.

Potential Aesthetic Side Effects include;

  • Spocking: A muscle that over/under reacts to the treatment dose can result in asymmetry, in areas like the brow. This is very easily corrected at your follow up appointment, where we can readjust the treatment dose.
  • Flushing: A rarer side effect can occur during periods of high physical exertion, where the face flushes red but the injection areas where the muscle was frozen do not. This side effect has no medical implications, and will resolve naturally as the anti-wrinkle wears off.

Booking your wrinkle reduction follow up between 2-3 weeks is essential for us to be able to complimentary treat any complication that occurs within our control. This timeframe is specific for wrinkle reduction treatment follow ups, so if you aren’t able to find an appointment with your nurse within this period please contact us as soon as possible.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our booking system. If you have any patient forms left to complete (these are sent as part of your reminder message), please arrive 5 minutes early.

At your appointment time, your nurse will take you through and begin your consultation, which is provided as part of all treatments booked – we’ll never inject without knowing your goals first. During this consultation, you and your nurse will decide on the best treatment option/s for you, depending on your candidacy, goals and budget. Your nurse will advise you of your expected results, discuss with you product options and volumes, and go through your aftercare instructions & any potential side effects to look out for.

A prescription for your chosen treatment will be obtained via telehealth consultation if you are a new patient to us, or if it’s been more than 12 months since your last appointment with us. The doctor will also go through the risks again and obtain your consent to a prescription and subsequent administration.

Sometimes patients are ‘marked up’ with a cosmetic pen (this is not always needed). Once treatment has started, it’s all very quick and simple from there and in no time, treatment will be complete. After your treatment, your nurse will take you through to reception to complete payment, and you’ll be offered to sit and relax with a coffee, tea or sparkling water & some snacks to unwind and relax post treatment.

The recommended timeframe to receive treatments before a special occasion or event varies per service. For wrinkle reduction treatments, we recommend receiving your treatment 4-6 weeks before your event, so your results are visibly at full strength.

Weddings: if you are a new patient to us, we recommend coming in 6 months prior – this allows us to find your best personal wrinkle reduction treatment dosing, and retreat 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding to ensure you have your final results and avoid any stress of potential adjustments or complications too close to your special day.

No numbing agents are needed for wrinkle reduction treatments. The procedure itself is very quick, and the needle (which is extremely small and fine) is only placed superficially so virtually painless.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, also known as the ‘Vampire Facial’ made so well-known the Kardashians is often used as a natural alternative to cosmetic treatments like dermal fillers and Botox. The concentrated platelets in the extracted plasma contain growth factors that stimulate collagen production, which helps to rejuvenate and brighten the appearance of your skin, promote hair growth, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, and improve keloid, stretch mark and acne scarring.

PRP therapy is the ultimate biological treatment for the face, neck, and décolletage to achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion. Angel Aesthetics PRP procedure involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s own blood, processing it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting the PRP into the targeted areas of the skin, followed by skin needling using your own plasma and a compounded hyaluronic acid serum.

SkinPen® is the only TGA approved medical grade needling technology producing more dramatic results to rejuvenate skin, combat stubborn pigmentation and help repair acne or surgical scarring.

Our highly trained nurses will only treat a patient if both their aesthetic results & medical best practice standards can be met. This means we aren’t able to treat if you are contraindicated, not a candidate or go against our policies. PRP is mainly used for aesthetic reasons, it is still a prescription treatment that can only be administered by a registered medical professional.

Please ensure you:

  • Are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you suffer from an autoimmune disorder, you may not be able to receive treatment. Please discuss and gain consent from your regular GP or specialist before booking in for a consultation.

Please discuss your individual candidacy requirements with your healthcare provider prior to undergoing PRP therapy, as they can provide you with more specific information based on your medical history and current health status such as;

  • Good overall health: Patients should be in generally good health and not have any underlying health conditions that may interfere with the effectiveness of PRP therapy or increase the risk of complications.
  • Adequate platelet count: PRP therapy requires a certain level of platelets to be effective, so patients must have an adequate platelet count in their blood

The expected results from platelet-rich plasma (PRP) cosmetic treatment can vary depending on the individual patient’s skin condition, age, and health status, as well as the number of treatments received. We reccomend an intial treatment of 3x treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, followed by 3x sessions spaced 12 weeks apart if indicated or treating keloid/pockmark scarring or hair loss etc.

The expected benefits of PRP therapy are:

  • Improved skin texture and tone: PRP therapy can stimulate collagen production, which can help to improve the texture and tone of the skin. This can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
  • Increased skin hydration: PRP therapy can also improve skin hydration, which can give the skin a more youthful and radiant appearance.
  • Reduced pigmentation: PRP therapy may help to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation or sun damage, resulting in a more even skin tone.
  • Natural-looking results: Because PRP therapy utilizes the patient’s own blood, it can result in a more natural-looking outcome than other cosmetic treatments that use synthetic materials.
  • Minimal downtime: PRP therapy is a minimally invasive procedure that typically requires little to no downtime, so patients can return to their regular activities shortly after the treatment.

It’s important to note that the results of PRP therapy may take several weeks to fully develop, and multiple treatments may be needed to achieve the desired outcome. The effectiveness of PRP therapy for cosmetic purposes may also vary depending on the individual patient’s skin condition and the specific technique used during the treatment. It’s best to consult with a qualified healthcare professional to determine if PRP therapy is a suitable option for your specific cosmetic concerns.

Downtime for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is generally minimal, and most patients can resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment.

Most patients can expect to see pinpoint redness at the injection sites, and overall redness & tightness to the skin surface from micro needling that fades within 1-4 days for most patients. Swelling is unlikely but can occur to the injection sites. If so, you can take a non-drowsy antihistamine (Zyrtec, Telfast, Claritin etc) to help bring it down quicker. The risk of bruising is minimal; however this risk varies from patient to patient due to the placement of blood vessels under the skin. If you do bruise, the best way to heal is to up your water intake and get a minimum of 8 hours sleep per night. To boost your healing, LED Healite II treatments are amazing, or you can spot apply Arnica cream from 48 hours post treatment.

Aftercare guidelines for PRP Therapy:

  • Avoiding direct sunlight and wearing sunscreen: Patients should avoid direct sunlight and wear sunscreen to protect the treated area from further damage.
  • Applying ice: Patients may experience mild swelling or discomfort after the treatment, which can be alleviated by applying ice to the injection site.
  • Avoiding strenuous activities: Patients should avoid strenuous activities, such as exercising or heavy lifting, for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
  • Avoiding makeup and skincare products: Patients should avoid using makeup and skincare products on the treated area for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
  • Staying hydrated: Patients should drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and promote the healing process.
  • Follow-up appointments: Patients may need to schedule follow-up appointments with their healthcare provider to monitor their progress and determine if additional treatments are needed.

Please note the specific aftercare and downtime guidelines for PRP cosmetic treatment may vary depending on the individual patient’s medical history and the specific technique used during the treatment. Patients should always follow their healthcare provider’s instructions for aftercare and report any unusual symptoms or complications that may arise after the treatment.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is generally considered a safe and minimally invasive procedure, as it utilises the patient’s own blood and avoids the use of intravenous drugs or surgery. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects to be aware of. Some of the most common risks associated with PRP treatment include:

  • Infection: As with any injection, there is a risk of infection at the injection site.
  • Pain or discomfort: Patients may experience mild to moderate pain, swelling, or discomfort at the injection sites, and skin sensitivity over needled areas.
  • Bruising: PRP injections may cause bruising or discoloration at the injection site.
  • Allergic reactions: Some patients may have an allergic reaction to the injection if your body is in a heightened immune state, which can cause itching, hives, or difficulty breathing.
  • Nerve damage: In rare cases, PRP injections can cause nerve damage or numbness in the surrounding area.

It’s important to discuss any concerns or questions you may have about the risks associated with PRP therapy with your healthcare provider prior to undergoing the treatment. They can provide you with more information about the potential risks and benefits based on your individual health history and circumstances.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our booking system. If you have any patient forms left to complete (these are sent as part of your reminder message), please arrive at least 5 minutes early.

At your appointment time, your nurse will take you through and begin your consultation, which is provided as part of all treatments booked – we’ll never treat you without knowing your goals. During this consultation, the entire treatment area will be numbed, then you and your nurse will decide on the best treatment option/s for you, depending on your candidacy, goals and budget.

Your nurse will advise you of your expected results, discuss with how many treatments are recommended to meet your goals, and go through your aftercare instructions & any potential side effects to look out for.

A prescription for your treatment will be obtained via telehealth consultation if you are a new patient to us, or if it’s been more than 12 months since your last appointment. The doctor will also go through the risks again and obtain your consent to a prescription and subsequent administration.

Any makeup will be removed and the treatment area cleansed and disinfected in preparation for treatment. Your nurse will inject the plasma to targeted areas, and then microneedle any remaining plasma with a HA serum into the skin. Your nurse will check in with you from there and in roughly an hour, treatment will be complete.

After your treatment, your nurse will take you through to reception to complete payment, and you’ll be offered to sit and relax with a coffee, tea or sparkling water & some snacks to unwind and relax post treatment.

We use, depending on patient candidacy, either a very strong TLA (topical local anaesthetic) and/or local anaesthetic via injection to the treatment area/s. Both the injection needle and the microneedling head are extremely fine gauge, and with numbing the pain is minimal, but a pressure sensation can be felt.

SkinPen® is the only TGA approved medical grade needling technology aims to produce more dramatic results to rejuvenate skin, combat stubborn pigmentation and help repair acne or surgical scarring.

As we age our natural collagen production slows down, leading to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Skin needling, (also known as micro needling or collagen induction therapy) is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a medical grade device with ultra-fine, medical grade needles to create thousands of tiny punctures, invisible to the naked eye. These punctures stimulate the skin’s natural healing response and encourage the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for healthy, vibrant skin.

New collagen production can continue for up to 12 months, resulting in an improvement in skin firmness and texture and a softening and lifting of scars and stretch marks. Skin Needling can also be used to diminish the appearance of pigmentation and sun damage, as well as improve uneven skin texture and stretched pores.

The benefits of Skin Needling Include:

  • Improved skin texture: by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which can improve the texture and firmness of the skin. This lead to a smoother, more even skin tone.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles: By stimulating collagen production, microneedling can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Scarring: help reduce the appearance of scars, including acne, stretch marks and surgical scars.
  • Skin tone and pigmentation: improve uneven skin tone and pigmentation, including age spots and sun damage.
  • Increased effectiveness of skincare products: The micro-channels created by microneedling can allow topical skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin, making them more effective.

Skin needling, also known as micro needling, is generally safe and effective for the vast majority of patients. However, there are some candidacy requirements that should be considered before undergoing this procedure. Here are some factors that may affect your candidacy for skin needling:

  • Skin type: Skin needling is generally safe for all skin types, but individuals with certain skin conditions, such as eczema or rosacea, may not be good candidates for the treatment. Please note: those with olive and darker skin tones  should consult with a dermatologist or their regular GP prior to undergoing treatment
  • Skin concerns: Skin needling is often used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. If you have these concerns, you may be a good candidate for the treatment. If you have skin conditions, such as psoriasis, dermatitis etc consult with your dermatologist or regular GP prior to undergoing treatment
  • Overall health: Skin needling is a minimally invasive procedure, but it is still important to be in good overall health. If you have a history of bleeding disorders or skin infections, you may not be a good candidate for the treatment.
  • Smoking/Vaping: Smokers should be aware that smoking compromises the body’s ability to grow new collagen.
  • Medications: Certain medications, such as blood thinners, may increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure. It is important to let your healthcare professional know about any medications you are taking before undergoing skin needling.
  • Pregnancy: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is generally not recommended to undergo skin needling.
  • History of scarring: If you have a history of hypertrophic or keloid scarring, you may not be a good candidate for skin needling.

It is important to discuss your candidacy for skin needling with your nurse. They can evaluate your skin type, concerns, and overall health to determine if skin needling is right for you.

Skin Needling final results are usually visible by one week post treatment, with repeated treatments recommended to continue initial production. Like all rejuvenation treatments you do need to maintain some amount of upkeep. Your new collagen will continue to improve over 6-12 months and effects can last up to 5 years. It is recommended that you do a top up treatment 1-2 times a year to maintain your results and further stimulate collagen development.

  • Improved skin texture and tone: Skin needling stimulates collagen production, which can help to improve the texture and tone of the skin. This can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
  • Increased skin hydration: Skin needling can also improve skin hydration, which can give the skin a more youthful and radiant appearance.
  • Reduced pigmentation: skin needling evens out the skin tone to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation or sun damage.
  • Natural-looking results: Because skin needling utilizes the patient’s own blood, it can result in a more natural-looking outcome than other cosmetic treatments that use synthetic materials.
  • Minimal downtime: Skin beedking is a minimally invasive procedure that typically requires little significate downtime so patients can return to their regular activities shortly after the treatment.

You can use the following as a treatment schedule guide to see best results;

  • Overall Rejuvenation: 3-6 treatments (best 4-6 weeks apart)
  • Acne/Scarring & Stretch Marks: 6-12 treatments (best 4-6 weeks apart)

The downtime for skin needling treatment varies depending on the depth of the treatment and the individual’s skin type, however, most patients are able to return to their normal activities the next day.

A feeling of tightness is experienced and a slight “sunburnt” look is usually apparent immediately after treatment, lasting 1-3 days but can be concealed using a mineral based makeup. Some patients may also experience mild bruising or pinpoint bleeding post treatment.Hot baths, showers and saunas should be avoided for at least 3-5 days.

You may also experience skin peeling around the 3-7 day mark, try not to rub or pick as this can decrease your healing rate or damage the new skin underneath.an LED treatment immediately post procedure boosts healing and decreased downtime significantly for most patients.

Additional Considerations;

  • Avoid sun exposure: It is important to avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week after treatment. If you must go outside, wear a hat and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
  • Use gentle skincare products: In the days following treatment, use gentle skincare products that do not contain harsh chemicals, retinoids/retinols, AHA’s, active serums or fragrances.
  • Avoid makeup: It is best to avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after treatment to allow the skin to fully heal.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise: It is best to avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment, as sweating can irritate the skin and increase the risk of infection.
  • Be gentle: During the healing process, avoid picking at or scratching the treated area and be careful when washing your face or applying skincare products.

Skin needling is generally not suitable for those who have been on Roaccutane (or variations) in the last 6 months, have cystic acne, open wounds, infections, uncontrolled diabetes, are pregnant or breastfeeding, prone to keloid scarring/abnormal wound healing, or have psoriasis or dermatitis in the area to be treated.

Any makeup and numbing will be removed and the treatment area cleansed and disinfected in preparation for treatment. Your nurse/therapist will microneedle the skin to depths up to 2.5mm to areas of concern with a compounded HA serum. Treatment will be completed in approximately 30 minutes from start to finish, after which your therapist will take you through to reception to complete payment, where you’ll be offered to sit and relax with a coffee, tea or sparkling water & some snacks to unwind and relax post treatment.

We use a very strong TLA (topical local anaesthetic) to the entire treatment area for a minimum of 15 minutes. Both the injection needle and the microneedling head are extremely fine gauge, and with numbing the pain is minimal, but a pressure sensation can be felt.

Morpheus8 is a medical device that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver skin rejuvenation and remodeling treatments. It is a non-surgical procedure used for skin tightening, contouring, and improving the overall appearance of the skin.

Morpheus8 utilizes a matrix of micro-pins that penetrate the skin, creating tiny channels. These micro-pins deliver RF energy deep into the dermis, stimulating collagen and elastin production. The combination of microneedling and RF energy promotes skin tightening, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and improves skin texture and tone.

The device allows for precise control of the treatment depth, energy levels, and treatment area, making it suitable for various skin types and areas of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, arms, and thighs. The procedure is typically performed by a trained healthcare professional, such as a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

Morpheus8 treatments are known for their ability to target deep layers of the skin, promoting natural collagen production and remodeling. The results can include improved skin firmness, reduced sagging and diminished acne scars.

It’s important to note that while Morpheus8 is a well-known medical device used in cosmetic procedures, it’s always recommended to consult with a qualified healthcare professional to determine if it is suitable for your specific needs and goals.

  2. Wrinkle Reduction: By promoting collagen production, Morpheus8 can help minimise the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The skin becomes smoother and more youthful-looking.
  3. Texture Improvement: The micro-needling component of Morpheus8 can help improve skin texture by reducing the appearance of acne scars, large pores, and uneven skin tone. The treatment encourages skin cell turnover, resulting in a smoother and more even complexion.
  4. Contouring: Morpheus8 can be used for body contouring as well. It can target areas with excess fat and loose skin, helping to reshape and tighten the treated areas.
  5. Long-lasting Results: The collagen and elastin production stimulated by Morpheus8 treatments can continue for several months following the procedure, leading to ongoing improvement in skin quality. Results are typically long-lasting, but maintenance treatments may be recommended to optimise and sustain the outcomes.

    3. Sensitivity and Discomfort: Some individuals may experience mild sensitivity, tenderness, or discomfort in the treated area. This can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers such as Panadol.

  • You have not had or planning to have any vaccinations within two weeks before or after your appointment.
  • You have not had or planning to have dental treatments (extractions, fillings or major dental work) within four weeks before or after your appointment.
  • No active acne, wounds/broken skin or cold sores in the treatment area/s at time of treatment.

  • Flying/travelling: we are unable to treat if you plan to leave the state within 72 hours of your appointment, or within two weeks if travelling overseas.

Collagen Stimulators stimulate collagen production, gradually restoring volume and improving skin texture in the face and body. When the product is injected into the skin it prompts the body to produce collagen, a protein that is key for maintaining the skin’s make-up and elasticity. Over time, as collagen is produced, the skin becomes firmer, fuller, and smoother. The results develop gradually over weeks to months, and it is recommended a minimum of 3-4 sessions 4-6 weeks apart for best results.

It’s important to remember that while collagen stimulators are mainly used for aesthetic reasons, it is still a prescription medication that can only be administered by a registered medical professional. As such, there are some prerequisites to be aware of before your appointment.

  • Have no excessive acne, sunburn, broken skin, wounds or cold sores in the desired treatment area.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, visit your local chemist for preventative medication. Not taking this medication can cause an outbreak, so take the night/morning prior to your appointment, as directed by your pharmacist.

Available at Angel Aesthetics Clinic in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth.

Collagen Stimulators works overtime as your body gradually produces collagen. You will start to see initial results a few weeks after treatment. Collagen Stimulators works gradually and you wont see results immediately. Collagen Stimulators, relies on the body’s own natural collagen production and as collagen is produced the skin does become firmer, smooths out fine lines and restores volume to areas with volume loss. After 3-4 sessions the effects of Collagen Stimulators, can last up to 2-3 years on average, touch up treatments may be required as it is client dependant on different contributing factors such as lifestyle choices, the clients age and the initial skins condition.

Following a treatment, the client must massage the treatment area 5 times a day for 5 minutes, for 5 days post procedure. This is important in helping reduce the risk of any lumps/ bumps or nodules forming. Initial Swelling, redness and bruising Is normal and typically subsides within a few days to a week post treatment.

We know any side effect can feel worrying, but remember any of the above are only a cause for concern if they do not resolve.

A rare but serious complication known as a Vascular Occlusion (when the product enters an artery or vein, partially or completely blocking the blood flow) is something your nurse will discuss with you and what to look out for. Symptoms usually present immediately, but can occur within 72 hours as dark, mottled bruising and white patches or pale/blanched skin on or near the bruising. Heat and/or pain in the area can usually be felt, too. Tissue death can reportedly occur by an unresolved VO from the 48-72 hour mark, so please contact us immediately with photos and videos showing any bruise concerns.

An allergic reaction, whilst extremely rare, is still a possibility from all prescription medication so keep an eye out for itchy hives and/or swelling around the eyes, mouth and throat. Contact us immediately if you have any concerns, or call triple 000 if an emergency/outside of business hours.

The most rare and serious complication that can occur is blindness from an occlusion travelling to, and then blocking the ophthalmic artery. Granulomas are small lumps that can form due to the inflammatory reaction to Collagen Stimulators. Granulomas are rare but can sometimes take months or years to appear and may require medical treatment to resolve.

Upon arriving to Angel Aesthetics, you will be greeted by our Angels and checked in via our booking system. If you have any patient forms left to complete (these are sent as part of your reminder message), please arrive at least 5 minutes early.

At your appointment time, your nurse will take you through and begin your consultation, which is provided as part of all treatments booked – we’ll never inject without knowing your goals. During this consultation, you will be numbed if you haven’t requested early numbing, then you and your nurse will decide on the best treatment option/s for you, depending on your candidacy, goals and budget. Your nurse will advise you of your expected results and go through your aftercare instructions & any potential side effects to look out for, specific to your collagen stimulating treatment.

A prescription for your chosen treatment will be obtained via telehealth consultation if you are a new patient to us, or if it’s been more than 12 months since your last appointment with us. The doctor will also go through the risks again and obtain your consent to a prescription and subsequent administration.

Any makeup will be removed, and the treatment area disinfected in preparation for treatment, sometimes patients are ‘marked up’ with a cosmetic pen (this is not always needed, and not for all areas).

For Collagen Stimulator, we recommend receiving your treatment at minimum 4-6 weeks before your event, so your results have had time to fully settle, integrate into and lift the tissue.

Weddings: if you are a new patient to us, we ideally recommend coming in 6 months prior for a consultation – this allows us to create the best treatment plan for you with your treatment options and timeframes. This ensures you have your final results and avoid any stress of potential adjustments or complications too close to your special day.

With our Collagen Stimulators, treatments we use a numbing agent called lignocaine, which from the first injection begins working its magic to deliver a virtually pain free experience.

The only treatments that truly benefits from the use of TLA (topical local anaesthetic) is the lips. This is due to the high concentration of nerve endings in our lips, making them very sensitive. We use a high-grade numbing gel that works within 10-15 minutes, We recommend to arrive early for longer numbing.

Industry research has found that the body’s natural threshold for anaesthetic for natural redheads is higher, meaning you need a larger dose, or your TLA numbing needs to be on for a minimum of 15 minutes.
